Phoenix Unite on Waterford's Tall Ships 2011

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - April 15, 2011) - Phoenix Unite Ltd is waiting in anticipation for the biggest event in Ireland for 2011. The 30th June cannot come fast enough for Phoenix Unite Ltd with this great event taking place in the company's home town of Waterford. This event will see over 70 Majestic Ships sail up the River Suir and into the port of Waterford for a four day stay. The race is starting in Waterford and then onto the following places: Lerwick, Stavanger and will finish in Halmstad.

Waterford City will be transformed into a festival of Music, Markets and fun for the kids. The Tall Ships will be celebrated with a festival programme capturing the very best of Irish and international acts; street theatre; fireworks; music and food. Acts such as Sharon Shannon and Bryan Ferry will descend upon Waterford for performances over the festival weekend.

Phoenix Unite's Ramune Kusktye said 'This event is such a huge part of the summer in Waterford, as it attracts a massive amount of business to the area, mainly in the hospitality industry.'

For those aged between the ages of 16 and 25 they can climb aboard and become a trainee, you don't need any prior sailing experience. You can go on the next leg of the race and get a flight back to Waterford. Ramune thought this was a great idea.

The last festival that took place was in 2005 which contributed largely to the local economy, pushing the Waterford City Council to get this wonderful event back to Waterford again. From the 30th of June to the 3rd of July people will travel from all over the country and further a-field to catch a glimpse of the ships. It is expected that 500,000 people will visit Waterford over the four day festival. Everyone at Phoenix Unite is 'looking forward to the festival and the activities that come with it,' says Ramune.
