Two-time U.S. Olympic Gold Medal Gymnast Gabby Douglas visited McDonald's flagship restaurant on the Olympic Park. Douglas met with kids participating in the company's "Champions of Play" program to share her Olympic experience. Nearly 200 kids from 34 countries traveled to London to see the Games as part of the program, which encourages a balanced approach to nutrition and activity. U.S. Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson lends a hand in the kitchen during a live chef demonstration at McDonald's on the Olympic Park. Chef John Feeney teamed up with Johnson to create a Chicken Salad and share tips on creating balanced meals 'fit for an Olympian' using the same produce from McDonald's salads. Throughout the Games, a series of chef demonstrations by the company were designed to highlight recipes for family-friendly meals.
