PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: Weatherization Training Hands-On Demonstrations

Best Practices in Insulation, Air Sealing Installation Techniques, Diagnostics and Energy Management Part of ACI New England 2010

PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 4, 2010) - Affordable Comfort Inc. (ACI), the nation's leading educational resource for the home performance and weatherization industry, will be conducting hands-on and train-the-trainer demonstrations throughout the event, including:

  • best-practices for increasing the thermal performance of existing walls – three times on Wednesday, October 6
  • air sealing using two-component spray foam – Wednesday October 6 at 10 am
  • ease of scoring and replacing window glass and acrylics, with cost benefits – Wednesday October 6 at 3:00 pm
  • building science diagnostics using infrared thermal imaging technology – Wednesday October 6 at 3 pm and Thursday October 7 at 10 am
  • home energy management technology – Thursday October 7 at 10 am

These hands-on sessions will have an emphasis on the particular requirements of New England's typical existing homes and specific climate conditions.

More than 800 attendees have registered for ACI New England 2010 so far, setting a new attendance record for an ACI regional conference.

The event, taking place at the Sturbridge Host Hotel & Conference Center on October 6 and 7, 2010 in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, will connect individuals looking to start or advance their careers in the home performance and weatherization industry with leading trainers and subject-matter experts from across the country. Classroom sessions are available in addition to the hands-on demonstrations, and an exhibit hall will showcase the latest products and services essential to successfully improving the energy efficiency, durability, comfort, health and safety of homes.
