PhotoChannel Launches PNI Connected Kiosk

PhotoChannel to show new kiosk technology at PMA in Las Vegas

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Jan. 30, 2008) - PhotoChannel Networks Inc. (TSX VENTURE:PN)(OTCBB:PNWIF) ("PhotoChannel" or "PNI") the leading innovator in online digital media solutions for retailers today announces the first public showing of the new PNI Connected Kiosk. The PNI Connected Kiosk is the photo industry's most complete and truly integrated in-store to online print and gift ordering kiosk. The integration to PNI's market leading online photo platform, the PNI Digital Media Platform, sets the PNI Connected Kiosk apart from any of its competitors. PhotoChannel will showcase the PNI Connected Kiosk for the first time at the Photo Marketing Association PMA 2008 Annual Convention, January 31 through February 2, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"The PNI Connected Kiosk is the first emergence of the technology we acquired in the purchase of Pixology, integrated within the PNI Digital Media Platform," says Peter Fitzgerald, President and CEO of PhotoChannel. "As the gift market explodes, having the ability to order gifts directly on any in-store print order station will give retailers who adopt this technology a unique offering and definite revenue boost. Prior to this new product offering, gifts and other products such as calendars and photobooks, which were not produced in-store, could only be ordered online or ordered manually by store personnel. PNI has solved this by integrating a great in-store ordering experience with our carrier grade, transport and transaction platform."

PhotoChannel's PNI Connected Kiosk technology is designed to allow the kiosk to function as a standard in-store print ordering kiosk, but with the added capability and product choice currently offered to consumers on the retailer's online photo website. Utilizing the PNI Connected Kiosk technology the consumer can order prints and at the same time have the added convenience of depositing their digital files into their online account. They may also access images in their online account for in-store printing and most importantly, have the ability to order gifts, calendars and photobooks that are not produced in-store. Retailer management features include remote monitoring of the health and status of the kiosk, remote updating and seamless connectivity from the kiosk to the many production labs a retailer may use to produce gifts outside of the store.

"The PNI Connected Kiosk sets the bar very high for an integrated in-store/online solution," says Aaron Rallo, COO & CTO of PhotoChannel. "The market has been craving for true remote monitoring and gifting connectivity for in-store ordering kiosks. Our goal has been to maintain consumer usability by ensuring the speed and ease of ordering prints on the kiosk is not affected while at the same time offering an enhanced product selection for ordering photo gift products right from within the retail location. PNI is uniquely capable in this regard by leveraging the core transport, transaction, monitoring and administration capabilities of the PNI Digital Media Platform while also maintaining a consistent experience between online and in-store systems. We are looking forward to the adoption of this solution by new and existing customers."

"Our first customer roll-out of this product will start in April,'" says Kyle Hall, Chief Marketing Officer of PhotoChannel. "The demand is very high for the PNI Connected Kiosk as no other provider has been able to deliver such a seamlessly integrated product that works in the manner the customer wants, while providing ease of management for the retailer. Considering the massive growth of the photo industry in gifting and other non-print items, we expect big things from this new offering within the PNI Digital Media Platform family of products. We expect the PNI Connected Kiosk to positively contribute to both PNI and its customers' revenue."
