Photography Contest Casts Spotlight on Sharing

JERSEY CITY, NJ -- (MARKET WIRE) -- September 19, 2005 -- PhotoActive DVD, the premiere way of sharing your photos and video footage with family, friends and clients, announces the First Annual PhotoActive Photography Contest. The contest gives people who enjoy taking pictures the opportunity to get a free DVD with their work, viewable on most DVD players and televisions.

The company is inviting both amateur and professional photographers to express themselves and give their photos a chance to be enjoyed in a new and unique way, with a PhotoActive DVD project and beautiful leather-bound photo album for grand-prize winners. Submissions can be photos that you have already taken, or new work just for the contest.

There are four categories covering a wide range, allowing for shutter-bugs that prefer to shoot specific subjects to have a chance to win. Photographers from anywhere in the world can enter, and both digital and photographic prints can be submitted.

"The PhotoActive Photography Contest gives those who enjoy the art of photography the opportunity to have their work seen by the world and displayed in a professional, interactive DVD portfolio to be shared, treasured and passed along as an heirloom for generations, to family and friends," says René Carson of By Hand Media, the firm that offers the DVDs. "Digital technology has given users the opportunity to do much more themselves, but organizing images has become an issue. What we offer is a way to save and cherish those important moments."

"It's also a great opportunity for artists, models and actors to have their best work saved for generations, or shared with potential clients. We have two categories that give them the opportunity to win prizes also," he continues.

Winners also get to have their work displayed in the PhotoActive Gallery, where people from all over the world visit, submit and see photography.
