Physicians Adult Daycare Finds Validation North of the Border

HOUSTON, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 25, 2007 -- Physicians Adult Daycare, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: PHYA) announced today that it continues to discover new markets and burgeoning demand for its unique approach to the increasingly pressing problem of caring for elderly family members. Company founder and CEO Duane Starkey has spent the better portion of the last four years developing a business plan that offers realistic and effective solution to a problem that has been largely ignored until recently, but is now beginning to find increasing support.

The problem is severe, and shows little signs of abating. According to a recent study, approximately 30% of all Canadians between 45 and 64 with children at home were also providing informal care to a senior. Eight in 10 of those people worked, and roughly 70% reported more stress than other workers (Source: Statistics Canada). Physicians Adult Daycare plans to bring its solicitous and convenient services to help fill this need. According to a company source, "For an employee making $9 per hour, a sick day necessitated by the need to care for an elderly relative costs the employer $72. Physicians Adult Daycare can supply the same care for approximately half the cost, conveniently and in a comfortable environment."

There are signs that greater awareness is prompting employers and care providers to dedicate greater thought to innovative solutions such as those provided by Physicians Adult Daycare. According to Peter Saulnier, vice-president and general manager of the Vancouver office of human-resources company Toombs KWA, "A lot of companies are talking about it, and they're looking to see what everyone else is doing... It's a relatively low-cost benefit that will help a big number of employees." For example, major companies such as Deloitte, Nexen, Enbridge and RBC Financial Group are participating in a new program in Calgary as part of their benefits packages. Another survey last year showed 28% of employers offered some assistance with elder care, but when asked, 44% said they expected to offer assistance by 2009 (Hewitt and Associates).
