Physicians Interactive's Mobile Healthcare Professional Community Passes Two Million Users

Company Continues to Expand Its Range of Relevant Healthcare Content Used at the Point of Care

MARLBOROUGH, MA--(Marketwire - Jan 17, 2012) - Physicians Interactive Holdings, the leading provider of online and mobile clinical resources and solutions for medical professionals, today announced that its mobile healthcare solution Skyscape® has registered more than two million healthcare professionals worldwide in its user network, an industry-leading milestone.

This announcement comes as mobile technology and app adoption for medical professionals is accelerating, with 81 percent of U.S. physicians using a smartphone in their work environment (up from 30 percent in 2001) and a startling 38 percent of physicians using medical apps daily. In addition, two-thirds are planning to implement or expand their use of mobile technologies in 2012 (Source: CompTIA).

"Our ecosystem of users -- doctors, nurses and students -- all understand the value of having access to clinical tools and resources on their mobile devices. In an increasingly mobile world, we'll continue to provide healthcare professionals with on-the-go, accurate information so they can do their jobs more efficiently, providing them with 'found time,'" said Sanjay Pingle, president of Physicians Interactive. "We see our mobile solution helping to drive mobile health adoption in the coming year and will continue to seek out new and innovative ways to support our user community and empower healthcare providers to do more."

In 2011, Physicians Interactive received several awards for leadership in interactive Web-based and mobile healthcare programs, including Skyscape recently receiving its 8th Mobile Star Award since 2005. Sponsored by Mobile Village, the Mobile Star Awards honor the top mobile products, success stories and visionaries in the world. This year, Skyscape received the "Superstar" award for the Enterprise Software: Healthcare Reference category, the highest honor bestowed by Mobile Village.

Additional highlights for Physicians Interactive in 2011 include the following:
