Pilot Program Launched to Develop Collaborative Platform for Integrated Circuit Design in the UAE

Silicon Cloud International Enables Collaboration Among UAE Universities and Their Worldwide Research Partners

SINGAPORE and ABU DHABI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES--(Marketwired - Dec 11, 2014) - In collaboration with Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, Khalifa University, and Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC), Silicon Cloud International, a provider of secure and private cloud computing infrastructure, announced today the successful deployment of a pilot program for a cloud based semiconductor design workflow in the UAE. The pilot program included participation from professors and researchers from Masdar Institute, Khalifa University, American University of Sharjah, UAE University, NY University -- UAE Campus, and Higher Colleges of Technology. Masdar Institute hosted the launch kickoff event.

Masdar Institute's iMicro provides strategic and operational direction to basic and applied microsystems research to generate knowledge and technologies that will help the UAE lead in microsystem devices and materials research, process technology, circuit and system design, and photonics. iMicro also works with MEMS TwinLab, jointly led by Masdar Institute and the Institute of Microelectronics (IME) Singapore.
