PIMCO Hires Jeffrey Thompson as Executive Vice President and Portfolio Manager

NEWPORT BEACH, CA--(Marketwired - Dec 21, 2016) -  PIMCO, a leading global investment management firm, has appointed Jeffrey Thompson, an Executive Vice President and Portfolio Manager, to join its commercial real estate team as the firm continues its expansion of its global alternatives investment platform.

In this new role, Mr. Thompson will be joining an established commercial real estate platform where he will focus on CRE lending opportunities which is an important area of growth. He will be based in the firm's New York office and will report to PIMCO's Co-heads of U.S Commercial Real Estate, John Murray, Managing Director and Portfolio Manager and Devin Chen, Executive Vice President and Portfolio Manager.

Jeffrey Thompson:

Jeffrey Thompson is an Executive Vice President and Portfolio Manager in the New York office. Prior to joining PIMCO, he was a Managing Director and Co-Head of the Commercial Real Estate Group at Annaly Capital Management where he managed an origination team investing in commercial real estate debt and equity as well as the asset management and underwriting groups. Prior to his time at Annaly Capital Management, he spent 20 years at GE Capital, investing in and lending to institutional private equity commercial real estate clients. Mr. Thompson has a B.A. from the University of Toronto.
