ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - Dec 3, 2013) - Pindrop Security, the pioneer in phone fraud prevention and call center authentication for banks and enterprise call centers, and the Security Innovation Network™ (SINET), an organization focused on advancing Cybersecurity innovation through public-private collaboration, today announced that Pindrop Security has been selected as a SINET 16 Innovator. Pindrop will present its Phoneprinting™ technology during the SINET Showcase 2013 to be held December 4-5, 2013 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
Pindrop Security provides enterprise solutions that help prevent phone-based fraud. With Phoneprinting, Pindrop is able to create a unique fingerprint for any phone call, determine call characteristics including where the call is from and whether the call was made from a landline, mobile phone, or specific Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) provider. Phoneprinting routinely identifies over 80% of inbound fraud calls to enterprise contact centers, saving millions of dollars in losses and contact center expenses each year.
"Phone fraudsters are continuing to adapt their tactics to evade detection, costing organizations millions in the process," said Vijay Balasubramaniyan, co-founder and CEO of Pindrop Security. "SINET's recognition of our phoneprinting technology highlights the threat that these phone-based attacks pose to government institutions and partners."
SINET Showcase, a public-private partnership initiative, was created to identify and share innovative and potentially disruptive Cybersecurity technologies among the audience of buyers and influencers from the investment, research, commercial, civilian, defense and intelligence communities.
Supported by the Department of Homeland Security Science & Technology Directorate, the SINET Showcase program received 115 application submissions from early stage and emerging technology companies, with the guideline that their revenues be under $15 million. The SINET Showcase Steering Committee, comprising 66 leaders from the government, industry, investment and academic communities, carefully vetted the entries in a two-stage process.
"The traditional corporate debate of 'build versus buy' is no longer a debate. It's a buy market being driven by a dynamic attack environment. As a result, the importance of accelerating innovation is imperative, not only for the entrepreneur, but also for a higher calling -- the national security and economic interests of our country," said Robert Rodriguez, Chairman and Founder of SINET. "We congratulate the SINET 16 for helping to shape, influence and impact the future of the Cybersecurity domain."
