Pinnacle Sports Adds Olympic and Pro Softball Star Crystl Bustos to Coaching Staff

Crystl Bustos Builds Kids' Character and Game Skills in New Coaching Position

MEDINA, OH--(Marketwire - January 5, 2010) - Two-time Olympic softball gold medalist Crystl Bustos has joined the coaching staff at Pinnacle Sports. She will begin working with student athletes in January helping them develop the mental and physical aspects of the game through weekly camps and skills clinics.

Bustos brings exceptional coaching and playing abilities to her position with Pinnacle. She began working with young athletes and troubled youth 13 years ago to help them improve their lives through sports.

On the world stage Bustos achieved Olympic gold medal wins in 2000 and 2004 and led the sport with World Cup Championships in 2006 and 2007 and gold medals at the Pan American games in 1999, 2003 and 2007. In the 2008 Olympics, she hit .500 with a record-breaking six home runs and 10 RBIs to help the team earn the silver medal.

Bustos, who has also played professional woman's softball with the Akron Racers and is currently field manager with the team, chose to join Pinnacle Sports because of its mission of building character in young athletes. "I'm excited about joining Pinnacle and helping young athletes be better players and individuals," Bustos said. "We'll be employing the newest methods of training that will help kids play for years to come."

Like all coaches at Pinnacle Sports, Bustos will be trained through the Coaching4Life program that instructs coaches on how to develop the mental, social and spiritual side of young players.

"The addition of Crystl to our softball coaching staff will take our excellent program to elite status," Director of Softball Glenn McCoy said. "Her experience and widespread success in the sport is unsurpassed and will be a great advantage to our young athletes."

"Crystl is a perfect fit for our coaching staff and the Pinnacle organization overall," Rich Garbinsky, Pinnacle Sports general manager said. "Not only does she have exceptional skills and commitment to the game, but she is devoted to developing character in our young athletes that will help them succeed far beyond the field."
