Pinot Days San Francisco Brings Together 500 Pinots, Winemakers and Extraordinary Chefs for Wine Pairing and Wine Tasting Events Throughout the City

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - June 14, 2010) -  Pinot Days returns to San Francisco June 21 - 27, 2010 assembling more than 500 pinots, gifted and interesting winemakers, celebrated chefs and extraordinary wine and food events throughout the city. A renowned pinot noir wine event with annual tastings in Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco, Pinot Days connects wine enthusiasts and winemakers creating a unique opportunity for new and seasoned wine lovers to experience, enjoy and deepen their knowledge of pinot noir. The 6th Annual Pinot Days San Francisco includes intimate Focus Tastings where attendees sit among famed winemakers, a Russian River Valley Tour, a Producer Spotlight event with famed winemaker Adam Lee of Siduri Wines, a winemaker dinner produced by noted Chef and food pioneer Roy Yamaguchi and tastings at popular San Francisco wine venues including District Wine Bar, MO Bar, and Ottimista Enoteca. Pinot Days culminates with the Grand Festival at Fort Mason Center on June 27. The Pinot Days Grand Festival is a wine tasting event which gives wine lovers the opportunity to experience and enjoy some of the world's best pinot noir and interact directly with the more than 200 acclaimed winemakers who produce them. Founded by The Bay Area Wine Project with the ultimate goal of advancing the profile of pinot noir, Pinot Days is a celebration of pinot noir and its most brilliant winemakers, the vineyards, the grapes, and the often-bewitching process of urging the noble pinot grape into great wine. June 21 Winemaker "Table Hop" Dinner at Chef Roy Yamaguchi's Roy's Restaurant      
  6:30 pm - 10:30 pm, Roy's Restaurant - 575 Mission Street, San Francisco, CA        
  Pinot Days and the American Institute of Wine and Food (AIWF) host a spectacular pinot-   paired dinner produced by AIWF ambassador and contemporary gastronomy master chef Roy Yamaguchi. This event features a five course, pinot-paired dinner and fourteen different pinots, as well as the colorful, gifted winemakers who create them.
June 25 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir Wine Tour      
  9:00 am - 5:30 pm, Merry Edwards Vineyards      
  This private and luxurious event gives an insiders tour through the heart of Russian River Valley and its stunning vineyards. Tours and tasting events will take place at Merry Edwards Vineyards, Dutton Goldfield, Iron Horse, Benovia and Inman Family Winery. Event includes an old-fashioned BBQ and tasting in the Iron Horse vineyard.
June 25 Producer Spotlight Tasting: Adam Lee and Siduri Wines

  Renowned winemaker Adam Lee's work celebrates pinot noir in all of its forms, offering impeccably crafted wines that range like people do in personality. This event features conversation with Adam as he shares his 16 favorite wines to the wine enthusiasts who delight in them.  
June 26 Focus Tasting: Santa Lucia Highlands, Santa Rita Hills and Santa Maria Valley Pinot      
  12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at The Fleet Room, Fort Mason Center      
  These Southern AVAs may be known for their forward fruit, but in the hands of the 16 featured winemakers at this event they show their stylistic diversity and exceptional uniqueness. Featured wineries include: Pisoni Vineyards, Cargasacchi Wines and Clos Pepe Vineyards.  
June 26 Focus Tasting: In "Trivial" Pursuit of Pinot Noir      
  3:00 pm - 5:00 pm, The Fleet Room, Fort Mason Center      
  In the Pinot Days spirit of "Serious Wines, Serious Fun," this educational event will showcase 15 excellent pinots and accompany them with entertaining stories and facts that is sure to heighten one's love for the noble grape. Featured winemakers include legends like Richard Sanford, Greg La Follette and Jean Charles Boisset.
June 26 Focus Tasting: Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast and Carneros Pinot Noir      
  6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, The Fleet Room, Fort Mason Center      
  These three lauded pinot regions are deservedly heralded for their ability to produce stellar pinot noir. This event will feature 16 talented winemakers who produced some of the world's brightest, most diverse and well-balanced pinots. Wineries include: Joseph Swan, Merry Edwards and Gary Farrell.      
June 27 Pinot Days Grand Festival Tasting      
  1:00 pm - 5:00 pm, Festival Pavilion, Fort Mason Center      
  Pinot Days Grand Festival Tasting assembles more than 500 pinots from every important      
  domestic pinot noir region, from the Russian River Valley to the Santa Lucia Highlands, Oregon to Carneros, the Anderson Valley to the Sonoma Coast to the Santa Rita Hills. The event includes food that pairs well with pinot from local and artisanal food purveyors.
