'Pittcon Heritage Award' Presented to Bio-Rad Co-Founder and Chairman David Schwartz

(AMEX: BIO) (AMEX: BIOb), a multinational manufacturer and distributor of life science research and clinical diagnostics products, announced today that its co-founder and Chairman of the Board, David Schwartz, was presented with the 2007 Pittcon Heritage Award in February during the annual Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy (Pittcon).

The award, jointly sponsored by Pittcon and the Chemical Heritage Foundation, recognizes outstanding individuals in the scientific instrument and laboratory supplies community, whose entrepreneurial careers have shaped the instrumentation community, inspired achievement, promoted public understanding of the modern instrumentation sciences, and highlighted the role of analytical chemistry in world economics. Winners of the Pittcon Heritage Award are inducted into the Pittcon Hall of Fame. Mr. Schwartz joins other previously recognized individuals in science entrepreneurship including Arnold O. Beckman, William Hewlett, and David Packard.
