Pivetal Appoints Ken Szafranski as VP and General Manager for Network Managed Services

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Aug. 12, 2009) - Pivetal, which last week announced the creation of a network managed services division, today announced the appointment of Ken Szafranski as VP and General Manager responsible for Pivetal's global managed services business, headquartered in North America.

Ken brings over 12 years of extensive managed services experience from his time at Nortel Networks in various positions including Sales, Business Development and Business Management. His last position was as the NMS Business Manager for all accounts headquartered in North America, the Caribbean & Latin America. In the last few years, while the economy and Nortel's overall business declined, Nortel's managed services arm exhibited double-digit growth. This demonstrates the need and value for experienced outsourced services by professionals, in a way that brings superior operations to the customer's internal IT team. Ken's degrees include a B.S. in Business from Eastern Illinois University and an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University.

Ken comments: "There is a huge amount of opportunity in the telecom market for focused, agile and dynamic managed services, and this is where Pivetal is aiming to provide major customer value. We have seen that most managed services providers cannot deliver rapidly on the delta between their standard offerings and the customer's specific needs. Pivetal's spectacular automated network management solutions allow our managed services team to meet and exceed industry expectations through proper service customization. We pass real efficiency and savings on to our customers."

Pivetal is providing a range of managed services for voice, data and converged networks, from basic through to highly interactive fault, performance and configuration management. Pivetal will also provide consultancy to identify operational areas where managed services savings are possible.

Pivetal's Cortex and QspeeQ solutions for network automation and VoIP Quality of Experience give the managed services division the huge boost to deliver on their promise: customers benefit from a rapid transition to a managed services model, while enjoying detailed operations visibility via real-time tools. The loop can be closed further with ticketing, inventory and business systems integration.
