Pixim® Digital Pixel System® Technology Powers Pelco's New Public View Monitor

Pixim's Unique Pixel-Based Imaging Technology Enables the Pelco Public View Monitor to Deliver Detailed Images Even in Challenging Lighting Conditions

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - March 17, 2008) - Pixim Inc., a leading provider of image sensors and processors for enterprise security cameras, announced that its award-winning Digital Pixel System® technology has been incorporated into Pelco's new Public View Monitor, which was introduced today.

The Pelco Public View Monitor, created specifically for the security industry, is an integrated monitor and camera system designed for placement at building entrances, such as retail, banking and medical facilities. The Public View Monitor simultaneously deters criminals (vividly demonstrating that the premises are protected by video security) and allows the display of promotional, welcome and informational messages to everyone who enters the building.

"By utilizing Pixim technology, the camera in our Public View Monitor self-adjusts to any lighting condition, making it ideal for locations challenged by variable light," said Linda Myers, Pelco product marketing manager. "As a result, not only are our customers not faced with adjusting settings, but they also have peace of mind, knowing that they can capture accurate, actionable information in challenging lighting conditions such as building entrances and lobbies."

Pixim Digital Pixel System technology is the only video image processing technology to employ hundreds of thousands of pixels, each acting like an individual camera. These self-adjusting pixels eliminate image-compromising visual noise and deliver high resolution, natural color and clarity -- in all lighting conditions. Pixim's all-digital system overcomes typical impediments of existing analog CCD technologies to provide positive subject identification.

"Pixim makes it possible for video security systems to deliver data without doubt," said John Monti, vice president of marketing and business development, Pixim. "In selecting our technology, Pelco recognized the importance of delivering a solution that gives its customers the certainty they desire: clear images in any lighting condition."

About Pixim

Pixim Inc. has developed an imaging technology that revolutionizes the way video cameras capture and process images. Unlike traditional cameras, where each pixel cannot adjust to highlights and lowlights in the same scene, Pixim's patented Digital Pixel System® technology empowers hundreds of thousands of pixels to act like individual cameras constantly self-adjusting. This all-digital system enables Pixim-powered cameras to efficiently capture the whole picture, regardless of lighting condition or application -- thus securing the highest resolution, natural color and clarity, while automatically eliminating image-compromising visual noise (e.g., glare, reflections). The result is more than superb image quality; it is accurate, actionable information that gives users the strength of certainty.

Pixim chipsets are incorporated into more than 150 security camera models that ship to more than 70 countries worldwide. Visit www.pixim.com/cameras for a complete listing of Pixim-based cameras.
