Pixim's Orca Chipset Technology Integrated Into Siemens' Fire Safety & Security Products New 1/3" CMOS Ultra Wide Dynamic Color Surveillance Camera

Siemens' New Surveillance Camera Offering Relies on Pixim Chipset Technology to Offer Excellent Image Quality and Color Rendition 24/7

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 10, 2006 --Pixim, Incorporated's patented Digital Pixel System® (DPS) technology is integrated into Siemens' new 1/3" CMOS Ultra Wide Dynamic Color Surveillance camera (CCWC1345) that offers ease of use with convenient remote set-up via serial port. Key Pixim chipset features that benefit Siemens' new security camera include wide dynamic range (120 dB max), NTSC/PAL dual video standards, universal twisted pair (UTP) video out and two power input models. Siemens' CCWC1345 is ideal for applications such as traffic monitoring, incident detection and other surveillance activities in varying lighting conditions.

The new Siemens' CCWC1345 features a UTP video output. Besides the conventional BNC video output, the integrated UTP video output enables the transmission of the video signal via simple twisted pair cabling such as telephone cable over a distance of up to 1200 m using a twisted pair receiver unit such as TP-RXMO02 or equivalent. The UTP video output is ideal for installations requiring long distance cabling, such as tunnel surveillance.

Siemens' CCWC1345 is the first Pixim Orca Chipset enabled camera to take advantage of dual power supply capability. The CCWC1345-LX can accept both 12 V DC and 24 V AC power supplies, while the CCWC1345-MX can plug directly into a 120 or 240 VAC power main.

Enabled by Pixim's DPS technology, Siemens' CCWC1345 is a 500 TVL high-resolution color camera that provides crisp, aperture corrected images for surveillance applications requiring detailed images even under extremely difficult illumination conditions. The DPS image sensor converts light to a digital signal at each pixel, enabling each pixel to have independent, optimized exposure times to deliver the highest image quality and color accuracy.

"Our new Pixim-enabled CMOS Ultra Wide Dynamic Color Surveillance Camera delivers excellent image quality and color accuracy, in any lighting conditions with no motion artifacts," explains Thomas Dieregsweiler, CCTV Product Manager for Siemens Fire Safety and Security Products. "Not only does the CCWC1345 overcome challenging lighting, such as glare, extreme lighting, and strong backlight, to catch crucial details, but the Pixim chipset has enabled Siemens to produce one camera for both NTSC and PAL video standards for greater installation flexibility."

Frost & Sullivan recently named Pixim, Inc. as the recipient of the 2006 Technology Innovation & Leadership of the Year Award in the field of video surveillance technology in recognition of its development of the Orca chipset.
