Pixorial Unveils Online Collaborative Video Service

New Consumer Video Platform Enables Consumers to Do More With Home Movies

DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - August 12, 2009) - Pixorial, the first of its kind collaborative video platform, today announced a suite of online services that promise to fundamentally change the way consumers preserve and share video memories. The video platform makes it easy for anyone to digitize, edit and publish video memories in one place and introduces innovative collaboration features not previously available to consumers.

Started by former Netscape and Oracle executives and lead by a team of veteran technologists, Pixorial launched its private beta in January of 2009 as a platform with one simple mission: to help people do more with video memories than ever before.

"Like so many people, my family had boxes of eight millimeter film, VHS and hi-8 tapes full of memories and there was no simple way of playing, let alone sharing, those memories with others," explained Pixorial's CEO and co-founder Andrés Espiñeira. "With new advances in technology, that problem can now be solved in an easy, affordable and highly interactive way."

Pixorial lifts the barriers set by alternative video services and infrastructure constraints by making it possible to share video in its original resolution and duration. With Pixorial, consumers can collaborate with friends and family within the video footage versus having to send the finished product -- making it a truly social experience. Consumers can also share editable video and allow friends and family to edit and mashup or blend memories regardless of format, source or duration. Users can upload digital video or ship all other video formats to Pixorial with an option to track it with GPS. Videos are made ready to be shared with friends and family in as little as ten minutes for digital and as little as three days for analog, depending on format.

"The personal media and scrap-booking industries have boomed alongside web video and social media, Pixorial brings all those components together into something that early adopters and baby boomers will love," said Gina Miccio, co-founder of Pixorial.

Using a cloud computing approach, Pixorial makes it possible for consumers to access and share their entire library of video memories through a safe and secure online location. Pixorial's network of redundant servers means memories are finally safe, preserved and easily accessible without taking up space on the end-user's hard drive.
