PJC/Brooks Eckerd Pharmacy and National Family Caregivers Association Provide the Total Solution With In-Store 'Caregiver Saturdays' Covering Medicare Part D and Other Issues

LONGUEUIL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 15, 2005) - The Jean Coutu Group (PJC), Inc., (TSX:PJC.SV.A) the fourth largest drugstore chain in North America, is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, The Jean Coutu Group (PJC) USA, Inc. ("PJC USA" or "the Company" which operates under the name Brooks Eckerd Pharmacy), will be holding "Caregiver Saturdays" with the National Family Caregivers Association (NFCA) in all Brooks Eckerd Pharmacy's on Saturday November 19th and December 10th. Caregivers and patients will have an opportunity to ask questions regarding the Medicare Part D benefit and collect information such as the Brooks Eckerd Caregiver brochure. This is another part of the joint initiatives between the two organizations who have sponsored National Family Caregiver month in November.

In addition to these efforts, Brooks Eckerd holds weekly instore events "We Care Wednesday" where Pharmacy Professionals provide information and answers questions for Seniors and Caregivers. Furthermore, there has been ongoing activity within the Brooks Eckerd Pharmacy Outreach Program where Pharmacists from the company's Speakers Bureau have participated in approximately 350 programs for seniors at special events in their local communities.
