PJ's Wish to Be Canada's Prime Minister Will Come True

Make-A-Wish(R) Recipient to Enjoy VIP Treatment During Visit to Ottawa This Week

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - February 16, 2016) -  Prabjote, or 'PJ' as his friends call him, is a teenager with a passion for politics. In fact, his career goal is to become Canada's prime minister someday. When PJ's battle with Hodgkin lymphoma made him eligible to be a Make-A-Wish® recipient, he knew right away that his wish was to be the nation's leader.

Together with the assistance of staff at the Prime Minister's Office, the Senate, the House of Commons, the RCMP, the Prime Minister's Protection Detail, the Supreme Court of Canada and the Fairmont Chateau Laurier, Make-A-Wish has planned a wish trip for PJ that will give him the chance to experience what it's like to be the prime minister during his five-day visit to Ottawa this week.

PJ, who is visiting from Toronto, will stay in the Presidential Suite at the Chateau Laurier and receive a formal prime minister's welcome from the hotel staff and management. The RCMP and Prime Minister's Protection Detail have arranged a full day of activities including tours of their facilities and a visit to the Musical Ride Branch and stables. On Wednesday, PJ will spend the day on Parliament Hill and visit the Peace Tower, attend a special ceremony in the Senate Chamber, hold his own news conference and attend a special dinner. Finally, PJ will spend a full day at the Supreme Court, shadowing The Honourable Mr. Justice Russell Brown.

Much of PJ's itinerary will be kept secret from him and although he has a general idea of what he'll be doing, Make-A-Wish has planned a lot of unexpected surprises.

"We love surprises," says Tanya Desjardins, CEO, Make-A-Wish® Eastern Ontario. "One of the best parts of planning wishes is getting to see the look of joy and surprise on a child's face when they see what we've planned for them. It's truly priceless and makes our job even more satisfying."

PJ is very excited that his family will accompany him on this trip from his home in Toronto and that he has the opportunity to live out his dream.
