Planet Antares is offering this advice to all vendors in addition to their distributors hoping that by spreading the word it will put a stop to these unscrupulous practices.

In a series of articles, Planet Antares has outlined the major scams being perpetrated on unsuspecting vendors and the best lines of defense that can be taken to protect oneself from becoming a victim.

The first in the series was advice to new vendors and is outlined below.

As an entrepreneur considering the vending machine business, it is recommended that you consider the following advice.

  1. Always buy brand new vending machines manufactured from reputed manufacturers. Don't get taken by used/ refurbished vending machine resellers. Stay away from refurbished vending machine scams. Old, used and refurbished equipment will only lead to repair and service issues.
  2. Find a highly profitable location. Beware of hiring services from vending locators as some of them scam the operators by selling out "not so profitable" locations at a high price. If you are a Planet Antares distributor, you should get in touch with your coach, who will guide you to find the best location for your business at no cost to you.
  3. If you find a location and it is not producing the income you expect then relocate the machine.
  4. Always buy products in bulk, as you can generally get cheaper pricing and obtain the better profit margins.
  5. Stock reputable brand name products, as they are always a hit among customers.
  6. Consider stocking products according to location. Product selection should be based on customers' profiles. Sell them what they like, not what you like.
  7. If you have multiple vending machines at different locations plan your vending route accordingly to prevent your vending machines from going empty.
  8. Service your vending machine regularly.
  9. Keep the vending machine hygienic and clean.
  10. Do seek and implement customers' feedback to improve your services.
