Planex Communications Selects IP Infusion Software Technology for Next Generation IPv4/IPv6 Layer2/3 Ethernet Switches

SAN JOSE, CA and TOKYO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 9, 2005 -- Planex Communications Inc.(JASDAQ,6784), a leading networking device vendor based in Japan, announced today that the next generation of IPv4/IPv6 Layer 2/3 switches will be based on IP Infusion's Advanced Routing Software (ARS) product suite. Planex will leverage the complete range of ARS modules including ZebOS Layer 2/3 routing, Multicast and MPLS.

"Planex has selected the ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite because of its high quality, modularity and comprehensive IPv6 support. We expect that by leveraging IP Infusion's advanced software, we can reduce our development cost and at the same time focus our resources on developing value-added functionality rather than standard routing protocols," said Katsuaki Kubota of CEO for Planex Communications. "With the growing complexity of switch software it is essential to work with a proven solution such as IP Infusion's ARS to meet market needs. We are excited about the possibilities that the software suite provides for our next generation of switches targeted at the Japanese market."

"We are very pleased that Planex has selected IP Infusion for their new product line. We firmly believe that Planex will be able to bring their next generation of switch products to market faster by using our suite of networking software modules," said Perry Constantine, President and CEO of IP Infusion. "Planex' hardware and system expertise combined with their outstanding sales organization will ensure that the new generation of switches based on IP Infusion technology will be a huge success."

"I am particularly pleased about the contribution that Planex will make to IPv6 based network infrastructure. Japan has been visionary in driving IPv6 adoption and we are proud that Planex switches based on IP Infusion's market leading IPv6 software protocols will help achieve the goal of creating a national IPv6 network," said Kunihiro Ishiguro CTO of IP Infusion.

IP Infusion develops and markets its ZebOS family of advanced IP routing suites, which are based on a unique, modular, multi-process architecture featuring control-plane components that provide route redistribution and conversion, management services, and an OS/processor abstraction layer for routing and switching modules. This robust, high-performance software offers IPv4/IPv6 versions of OSPF, BGP, RIP, and IS-IS routing protocols; PIM-SM for IPv4/IPv6 and DVMRP multicast protocols; MPLS, BGP-VPN, VPLS, RSVP-TE, DiffServ, CR-LDP, and Layer 2 VPN switching and signaling protocols; Spanning Tree, Rapid Spanning Tree, Multiple Spanning Tree, Bridging, VLAN, GMRP, GVRP, Link Aggregation, and Port Authentication Layer 2 protocols; virtual routing, and TCP/IP dual stack support.
