Plateau Systems Extends Market Leadership With Breakthrough Fall Release of Plateau Talent Management Suite Version 6

Plateau Improves SaaS Talent Management Suite With New Functionality Aimed at Improving Organization Focus on Strategic Initiatives

ARLINGTON, VA--(Marketwire - September 29, 2010) -  Plateau Systems, a leading provider of enterprise-class SaaS solutions for talent management, today announced the Fall 2010 Release of its award winning Plateau Talent Management Suite (TMS) V6. Designed to improve customers' ability to organize their talent management initiatives and improve user productivity, Plateau addresses some of the major roadblocks to effective talent management. The Fall Release includes enhancements across Plateau's entire product suite that enable employees to better align their goals with the organization at all levels, and to quickly execute talent management related tasks, resulting in better efficiency and increased productivity for both individuals and the organization as a whole.

Plateau recognizes that organizations and employees are constantly balancing competing priorities and limited resources. As a result, it is increasingly important for the employee's goals to be completely aligned with the organization's initiatives. Additionally, these time and resource constraints make it equally important that talent management processes, such as performance reviews, compensation planning, and development activities, be as efficient and effective as possible. A recent Aberdeen Group research paper, Effective Talent Management Drives Profitable Business Growth(i), underscores the importance of this relationship between talent management and organizational growth, revealing that effective talent management yields enthusiastic and more engaged employees that, in turn, deliver higher levels of customer service, sales, and ultimately, better business results.

"Now more than ever, organizations are seeking to adopt a set of integrated processes and practices designed to attract, manage, develop, and retain talent," noted Madeline Laurano, Principal Analyst at Bersin & Associates in her September 2010 Research Bulletin, Building a Business Case for Talent Management.(ii) "This approach allows organizations to identify workforce trends in a more predictive manner, target organizational capability gaps, and enhance connections to build alignment with the business needs."

Plateau's Fall 2010 Release of TMS V6 presents organizations with an innovative set of capabilities that make it possible for them to coordinate and execute talent management initiatives quickly and efficiently. The enhancements found in this release help end users, managers, and administrators make order of their daily chaos with the ability to automate routine and tedious processes and minimize the time required to complete key talent management tasks such as setting up goals, finding relevant learning, and completing compensation reviews.

"Plateau is one of the only providers that offers a fully integrated, enterprise-class solution for learning management, learning content management, performance and succession management, enterprise compensation management, and social networking," Bersin's Laurano wrote in her Building a Business Case for Talent Management Research Bulletin.(iii) "The company's ability to continually deliver innovative, best-of-breed product capabilities, and maintain its excellent service and support have helped distinguish Plateau -- and have been key to the company's success and growth."

New enhancements in the Fall 2010 Release include:

  • Goal Alignment and Assignment: Plateau's Fall 2010 Release includes enhancements and new capabilities that make it easier for employees to create goals aligned with the organization. The release also includes unique capabilities for goals to be assigned to employees based on their job title, location, or just about any other attribute. This assignment-based approach to goals is an industry-first and helps streamline the Goal and Plan creation process. When a new employee joins a certain business unit, they can be automatically assigned corporate or business unit goals based on their job. This unique approach to goal alignment automates much of the process and delivers a more intuitive experience for supervisors and employees.
  • Innovative Administrator Tools: With its latest release, Plateau is employing some of the latest Web 2.0 and rich internet application capabilities to help administrators and managers make order out of the overwhelming number of daily tasks and keep their finger on the pulse of their organization. These new tools enable users to quickly locate important items, eliminate clutter, and automate tedious processes. To achieve this, Plateau added leading edge user interface tools found commonly in web consumer applications and unveiled a new Administrator Homepage, with easy to use icons and organization features including advanced global search capabilities and bookmarking.
  • Enhanced Unified Compensation: Plateau has also updated its enterprise-class Compensation product to include a robust interface with powerful compensation planning tools. Users have the ability to streamline the compensation planning process and administer short- and long-term incentive programs that map to employee and organizational performance. Plateau Compensation now features an updated and more efficient set of user tools that include a compensation cycle dashboard that not only shows the status of compensation cycles, but also across cycles, and a wizard-based rule builder for creating eligibility rules for compensation cycles. With this release of Plateau Compensation, Plateau becomes one of the only vendors to offer a complete talent management suite via a single, unified multi-tenant platform.

"We fully understand the impact that goal alignment, employee efficiency, and productivity have on an organization's bottom line," said Paul Sparta, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Plateau Systems. "With our Fall 2010 Release and its focus on helping users streamline and better organize their talent management initiatives, we are providing organizations with the robust and unified capabilities they need to realize the true potential of their employees and achieve superior business results."

Plateau Talent Management Suite V6 Fall 2010 Release will be generally available in October. Additional information on this release is available online at Plateau will also be showcasing the latest version of its Talent Management Suite at the 13th Annual HR Technology® Conference & Expo in Chicago from September 29 - October 1, 2010, and at its annual Insights Users' Conference in Miami to be held November 1-4, 2010.
