Platinum Studios Licenses Classic "Cowboys & Aliens" to Regent Global Sourcing

Worldwide Apparel License Based on Graphic Novel

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - March 16, 2011) - Platinum Studios, Inc. (OTCBB: PDOS), an entertainment company that controls an international library of more than 4,000 comic book characters which it adapts, produces and licenses for all forms of media, has licensed its top-selling "Cowboys & Aliens" graphic novel to RGS Entertainment LLC, a division of Regent Global Sourcing (RGS), to create apparel for a worldwide audience.

"Cowboys & Aliens" tells the story of an alien invasion in the Old West in the late 19th Century. The graphic novel by Platinum Studios, Inc. Chairman and CEO Scott Mitchell Rosenberg was first published in December 2006, when it became the largest ordered graphic novel of the year.

"The playful nature and the fantastic graphics from this property provide a great opportunity for apparel merchandise around the world," said Roy Robinson, President of RGS Entertainment LLC. "Consumers want choices and want to discover their own brands that connect with their personalities."

"Roy Robinson and RGS Entertainment LLC have tremendous clout and relationships around the world," said Platinum's Rosenberg. "They really understood the interaction of the characters and the smash-up of the genres that provides a very interesting opportunity at apparel retail."

A feature film version of "Cowboys & Aliens," starring Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford and Olivia Wilde, directed by Jon Favreau ("Iron Man" and "Iron Man 2"), executive produced by Steven Spielberg and produced by Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Rosenberg will be released in North America on July 29, 2011 via DreamWorks and Universal Pictures with Paramount Pictures handling the international release of the picture.

"Cowboys & Aliens" is just one of the properties Platinum Studios controls among a multi-universe library of over 4,000 comic characters. While other large comics-based libraries are already spoken for, Platinum Studios remains independent of major entertainment studio affiliation. Marvel was recently acquired by Disney for $4 Billion, and is the second major comic library to be acquired by a Hollywood studio. DC Comics, which is owned by Warner Bros., recently announced a newly-revamped business model, focusing on reaching deeper into DC's catalog of characters.

Platinum Studios' film and TV division has the independently financed feature, "Dylan Dog: Dead of Night" with partners Hyde Park Entertainment and Omnilab Media readying for release in North America on April 29, 2011. In addition, Platinum is developing "Unique" with "Harry Potter" producer David Heyman at Walt Disney Pictures, "Vice" with producer Andrew Lazar and Top Cow Productions, Inc., an untitled feature film project at Sony Pictures Animation, "Nightfall" with producer William Stuart, "Blood Nation" with producer Alexandra Milchan. In addition, Platinum Studios is developing "MetaDocs" for TV with Syfy, FremantleMedia and Landscape Entertainment. Platinum's Rosenberg would serve as a producer on all Platinum Studios film projects and an executive producer on all Platinum Studios TV projects.
