Platinum Studios Secures an Additional $10 Million Financing Commitment

Platinum Studios Secures an Additional $10 Million Financing Commitment From Dutchess Opportunity Fund II, LP; Platinum Studios to Increase Comic Character Development for Film, TV and Downloads and Initiate Its First Coordinated Investor and Public Relations Program

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 16, 2011) - Platinum Studios, Inc. (OTCBB: PDOS), an entertainment company that controls an international library of more than 5,000 comic book characters which it adapts, produces and licenses for all forms of media, announced today that it has entered into an Investment Agreement for a $10,000,000 equity line facility ("ELF") with Dutchess Opportunity Fund II, LP.

"The Company had great success accessing funds from the first ELF we completed with Dutchess and we wanted to extend that facility in order to continue to draw funds from the ELF as it has proven to be an efficient and flexible structure for the company," said Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, Platinum Studios CEO.

During the 36-month term of the Agreement, the Company has the option to sell shares of its common stock to Dutchess issued under the ELF, at per share prices to be determined based on market prices in accordance with an agreed-upon formula. Platinum Studios will control the timing and amount of any sales of shares sold to Dutchess.

Douglas Leighton, Managing Director of Dutchess, stated, "We believe in management's efforts to grow the company and the extension of the ELF provides that option for management to choose the right times to access capital. Regardless of the ever-tightening capital markets, Dutchess continues to finance the growth of promising companies such as Platinum Studios."

Awareness for Platinum Studios' properties has increased significantly due in part to the film "Cowboys & Aliens," based on the New York Times Best Selling graphic novel, which Rosenberg produced alongside Steven Spielberg, Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Alex Kurtzman, and Roberto Orci.

Projects currently being developed include "Unique" at Disney (with "Harry Potter" producer David Heyman); "Vice" (with producer Andrew Lazar and Top Cow Productions (Wanted)); "Blood Nation" (with producer Alexandra Milchan); and, "Nightfall" (with William Stuart, executive producer of "The Rock").

Platinum is also developing "MetaDocs" for television (with Syfy, FremantleMedia and Landscape Entertainment) and also working on "Gray Legion" with Robert W. Cort (producer of "Three Men and a Baby," "Runaway Bride," "Mr. Holland's Opus").

A more detailed description of the Dutchess agreement is set forth in the Company's Form S-1 just filed with the SEC, which should be reviewed carefully in conjunction with this news release.
