Play-It-Forward Kicks off after the Long Weekend

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Aug. 3, 2012) - Gymtastics Play-it-Forward Projects is gearing up to launch their first local camp in Calgary by giving the gift of play to youth in our city. With 85 campers registered, and 25 volunteers and coaches the non-profit organization is looking to have one successful fun week of sport and play.

"This year's Summer Camp will promote fitness and physical development in a fun and creative environment," says Darlene Fedyna, President Gymtastics Play-It-Forward Projects. "We aim to help children and youth who participate in our projects reach their fullest potential, while building self-esteem, self-confidence and acceptance of others." The August 7-10, 2012 Spectacular Sports and Games Camp will serve local children, ages 4-11 that might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend summer camp.

The volunteer run camp gives these youth the chance to participate in active sport, and take the games and activities they've learned from their coaches to pass along to their friends in their neighborhoods. Certified coaches will bring a wide variety of activities to the campers, from fitness exercises, social games, dance, basic gymnastic skills, and an introduction to sport. The Spectacular Sports and Games Camp will be held at Gymtastics Gym Club (Suite #160, 7260 12st. S.E. Calgary, AB.)
