Plex Online Supports Open Database Connectivity
Manufacturers Benefit From Integration With Standard Reporting Tools
AUBURN HILLS, MI--(Marketwire - November 3, 2009) - Plex Systems, Inc., provider of the No. 1
rated ERP software
for manufacturers, today announced that Plex Online supports open
database connectivity (ODBC) for simplified data access. The enhancements
make the software compatible with a range of standard reporting tools in
widespread use.
The new feature enhances the robust reporting capabilities available within
Plex Online. The system offers especially powerful native reporting
functionality related to inventory tracking, production tracking,
financials, and other areas.
With this new capability, users simply access business, production,
financial and other data from their manufacturing operations through an
ODBC connection, and combine the information with data from other sources
as required to generate custom reports through third party reporting tools
such as Crystal Reports, Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion or MS Access.
Users benefit from an easy-to-use gateway to a production database which
tracks critical manufacturing information such as machine downtime,
inventory levels, production schedules and other areas. Users then build
custom reports or leverage their existing reporting tools using a simple
interface.
"This new feature lets Plex Online users access their manufacturing data in
an easy, custom report using the same reporting tools that they're using
for other systems," said Patrick Fetterman, Vice President Plex Systems,
Inc. "This enhancement enables manufacturers to combine data from multiple
sources to create key performance metrics, and helps manufacturers operate
efficiently and cost-effectively."
