Plex Systems Data Center Goes Live With Streaming Data, Two-Hour Disaster Recovery

First SaaS Application to Deliver Hot Site-Level Recovery

AUBURN HILLS, MI--(Marketwire - February 25, 2009) - Plex Systems, provider of Plex Online software for the manufacturing enterprise, announced today that its Data Center has gone live with streaming data and two-hour recovery time, making Plex Online the first software as a service in the world to achieve this disaster recovery objective.

"Being able to offer this capability and level of reliability to our customers is truly added value for them," says Mark Symonds, President and CEO, Plex Systems, Inc. "And the fact that this level of reliability and responsiveness is available on a software as a service manufacturing application differentiates Plex in the market to potential customers."

Using a redundant infrastructure with replicated data offsite, and the latest in data-streaming technology, Plex Systems now achieves aggressive recovery point objective (RPO) and recovery time objective (RTO) goals of two hours. These targets are in line with the world's leading technology providers for continuity and disaster recovery planning. This capability -- having all of the hardware, all of the software and operating systems loaded, and the data up and running -- is referred to as a "Hot Site" and is considered one of the highest levels of disaster recovery in the industry.

This new technology enables the Plex Online ERP Solution to be restored within two hours of a disaster with data that is no older than 2 hours. The targets support Plex Online's business edge of providing on-demand accessibility using the SaaS model.

The exceptional recovery targets are made possible by live data streaming between the company's primary data center in Auburn Hills, Michigan and its data center back-up in Asheville, North Carolina.

"This approach delivers a level of responsiveness, redundancy and safety for our clients that is virtually impossible for them to match with an internal system deployment or any other SaaS application," Symonds said. "Our clients operate their entire businesses on our on-demand software. Manufacturers using the Plex Online solution will minimize the time and cost of recovering from service outages and disasters with industry-leading disaster recovery and improved business continuity."
