PLUMgrid Joins Docker Partner Program; Enables SDN for Docker Containers

Networking Plugin for Docker Provides Distributed and Scalable SDN With Advanced Services

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 16, 2016) -  PLUMgrid, a leader of secure and scalable SDN and NFV solutions for OpenStack® clouds, today becomes a member of the Docker Partner Program and makes available working code for networking Docker containers at https://github.com/plumgrid/libnetwork-plugin. By providing a networking plugin with SDN support, PLUMgrid enables seamless connectivity for Docker containers with services including multi-host networking, security, DNS, tunneling, and high availability.

"As containers move into production, we are excited to join the Docker Partner ecosystem and work to improve container-to-container communication," says PLUMgrid VP of Business Development, Kash Iftikhar. "Advancing networking solutions for containers and VMs gives users the ability to better optimize how they want to consume computer resources and maximize their data center."

PLUMgrid is driving efforts for better integration of containers and VMs into cloud infrastructures with its innovative SDN solutions. The company's comprehensive Open Networking Suite (ONS) software lets tenants and cloud operators define and control their network needs and scale out across multiple physical hosts as the cloud deployment grows. The ONS supports multi-tenant networking, NAT and load balancing. It also allows multi-tenancy to segment traffic securely, via the company's Virtual Domains, to maximize data center resources. Finally, by addressing networking gaps in containers, PLUMgrid is enabling microservices for more efficient servers, quicker application development, and faster time to market.
