Plymouth Rock Assurance Completes New "Matrix" System Upgrade

Multi-Year IT Project Continues $50 Million Technology Investment


BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - June 11, 2007) - Recently, independent agents of Plymouth Rock Assurance Corporation in Massachusetts began using the improved capabilities of its new, online billing and claims IT system, the company announced.

In implementing this comprehensive system, known as Matrix, Plymouth Rock also continues an aggressive, multi-year, 50-million dollar investment in IT infrastructure -- the largest such investment in the company's history. Designed as a sophisticated policy-processing technology platform, the enhanced capabilities Matrix provides have already speeded the roll-out of Plymouth Rock's new auto insurance product in Connecticut. Now available to Massachusetts agents as well, the system supports over 200 agent users in both states.

The improved efficiencies enabled by the new IT system also make it easier than ever for Plymouth Rock's growing network of local independent agents to do business with the company. Matrix integrates a number of improved features and real-time paperless transaction capabilities into Plymouth Rock's existing Agent Web portal, along with plans to add even more agent-friendly features throughout 2007. --  Paperless transactions, with more imaged documents available
--  Immediate availability for First Notice of Loss info
--  New billing plans, and more billing information available online
--  Introduction of "equity-based" payment calculations
