BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - Nov 19, 2012) - Plymouth Rock Assurance, the flagship automobile insurance carrier of The Plymouth Rock Group of Companies which together write and manage more than $1 billion in auto and homeowner's insurance throughout the Northeast, today announced that it will sponsor the Allston/Brighton toll plaza (Interchange 19 on the Massachusetts Turnpike) from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21 as part of the company's Customer Appreciation Month. All motorists traveling through the toll in either direction will be able to travel through the toll domain during that time at no cost.
As a New England based company, Plymouth Rock understands the challenges of local commuting, especially around the Thanksgiving holiday. During Customer Appreciation Month, Plymouth Rock is pleased to offer this small "token" of thanks to its own customers as well as all other motorists passing through the Allston/Brighton toll plaza.
This sponsorship is another example of Plymouth Rock delivering more than just insurance to local drivers. Other examples include year round mobile claims processing through Plymouth Rock's Crashbusters® vans, which can issue claims checks on the spot, and Door to Door Valet Claim Service(SM), which offers Plymouth Rock customers vehicle pick-up, delivery and guaranteed auto repairs. Plymouth Rock's value-added offerings focus on getting customers safely home through our Get Home Safe program or back on the road as quickly as possible if an accident occurs.
"We're pleased to offer complimentary tolls to our valued customers and all other motorists traveling this Thanksgiving," said Plymouth Rock Chief Marketing Officer Keith Jensen. "On behalf of Plymouth Rock we hope that everyone has a safe and happy holiday."
"The Wednesday before Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel days of the year," said MassDOT Secretary and CEO Richard A. Davey. "Last year, we logged nearly 100,000 transactions for that date at Interchange 19 alone. We're happy to be working with Plymouth Rock to give drivers a break during stressful holiday travel."
Plymouth Rock will pay the cash and E-ZPass (FastLane) tolls recorded for the 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. hour on Wednesday, November 21. Massachusetts E-ZPass customers will see a credit and message from Plymouth Rock on their next statement. Drivers without E-Z Pass/FastLane transponders must still stop at the tollbooth and drivers with transponders should go through the E-ZPass/FastLane lanes with their transponders.
