Pocono Mountains Championship Golf Course Celebrates 25 Years of Success

The Country Club at Woodloch Springs Celebrates 25 Years in Business and Eagerly Anticipates Upcoming Charity Tournaments

HAWLEY, PA--(Marketwired - April 08, 2016) -  While abnormally warm temperatures made for a lack of winter activity in the Pocono Mountains, they have certainly benefitted the golf courses in the area that are eager to get a "shot" at an early season. Timing could not be better for The Country Club at Woodloch Springs, a championship golf course located in the Northern Pocono Mountains celebrating its 25th year in business.

Opened in 1992 as part of Woodloch Pines Resort, an award-winning, all-inclusive family resort located just two miles down the road, The Country Club at Woodloch Springs is rated 4.5 stars and has been named "one of the finest courses in America" by Golf Digest's Best Places to Play as well as the #4 course in Pennsylania by Golf Advisor for 2015. The 18-hole, par 72, championship golf course is set on 6,579 yards of fern-carpeted forest, lush wetlands, and broad upland meadows.

Two charity golf tournaments, benefitting very worthy causes, will kick off the start of the course's 25th season. On June 20th, 2016, The Country Club at Woodloch Springs will host the third annual Folds of Honor tournament with proceeds going to The Folds of Honor Foundation, the Laura Youorski Athletic Scholarship, and the Eastern Amputee Scholarship. The Folds of Honor Foundation provides scholarships to the spouses and children of United States soldiers killed or disabled while serving the country. Event registration includes participation in the golf classic, cocktail hour, dinner featuring Woodloch's famous seafood buffet, an awards ceremony, and a presentation made by an honorary guest speaker.

On August 8, 2016, The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, the Triple-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, will be hosting their 8th annual Pinstripes Golf Classic at The Country Club at Woodloch Springs with proceeds benefitting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeastern Pennsylvania. The jam-packed day will feature 18 holes of golf, games, a cookout luncheon, on-course snacks, and a gift bag full of state-of-the-art golf gear. Golfers will mingle with current RailRider team members, coaches and Yankee legends as well as other sports heroes. The day will conclude with cocktails, dinner, an awards ceremony, and of course, plenty of baseball memorabilia.

"Having worked at this course since the day it opened, it has always been my goal to ensure that our golfers understand the Woodloch commitment to excellence when they play our course. It is extremely rewarding to know that this commitment has not wavered one bit over our 25 years in business, and we have only expanded upon our success. I am honored to work at such a special place, and I look forward to many more great years to come," said John Pillar, the PGA Director of Golf at The Country Club at Woodloch Springs.
