Poconos Family Resort Makes Winter Worth Waiting for

Mid-January and Winter Finally Arrives in the Pocono Mountains

HAWLEY, PA--(Marketwire - Jan 24, 2012) - Woodloch Pines is a four-seasons, all-inclusive, Poconos family resort that offers something unique with each change of the weather. While winter conjures up thoughts of a crackling fireplace, hot cocoa with melted marshmallows and sprawling lazily with a cozy blanket and book, Woodloch Pines Resort has something else in mind.

"Winter is one of our favorite seasons here at Woodloch," explains John Kiesendahl, owner and president of this all-inclusive resort. "There is an energy buzzing through the Resort that can't be explained. Our guests who would typically stay inside at all costs find themselves the last to leave the Snow Tubing Raceway or the Ice Skating rink on Lake Teedyuskung." The social team works year round to plan new and exciting activities each winter. A favorite is always the Winter Olympics, where guests compete in games such as mountain bowling, the snow shovel pass, and the snow tube switch-a-roo.

Even with this year's unseasonably warm weather, Woodloch has still been transformed into a winter wonderland. Last month, Woodloch commenced its annual snow making process so that guests can enjoy the two snow tube runs on property. In addition to snow tubing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and ice skating are popular activities. "Guests find that they enjoy the time they spend outdoors as it re-energizes them and pushes them out of the seasonal rut," explains Kiesendahl. Furthermore, because Woodloch makes its own snow, guests can revel in the fun of winter well into March.

Woodloch Pines Resort is the official resort for Ski Big Bear at Masthope Mountain. Located only eight miles from the main property, the partnership allows guests special rate tickets. Ski Big Bear is known for their family-friendly atmosphere and is the perfect place to learn with their personalized ski instructions and user-friendly trails.

Of course, winter wouldn't be winter without the cold-weather favorites that are found indoors. The homemade breads and baked goods that guests order by the dozens from Woodloch's on-site bakery to take home with them, the new hot chocolate menu, and special winter cocktail menu are always favorites. Guests often congregate around the fireplaces found throughout the property. They can also partake in a variety of game show contests, experience Woodloch's Broadway-style theme show, or just relax in the indoor pool area, complete with Jacuzzi and kid's Splash Zone.

With no detail left unplanned, the excitement of the winter season leaves guests biting at the bit for a Woodloch vacation!
