Poet Babies Use Fashion to Unite Divided Country After Elections

BEVERLY HILLS, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 9, 2006 -- After a divided nation clashed in midterm elections, Poet Babies unite the country with universal messages in a hip new clothing line for adults who want to change the world by promoting common values. Appealing in both Red States and Blue, Poet Babies bring together Democrats and Republicans by writing modern updates of old truths for t-shirts and free e-cards available at their web site,

Each Poet Babies character expresses a universal theme: Jack promotes family and friends over money and titles, Megan seeks inner beauty rather than labels and gossip, and Tucker urges action and involvement. Yet far from being angels, in their own lives the Poet Babies were the people we all know but don't like: Jack a money grubbing executive, Megan a label-conscious gossip, and Tucker an apathetic slacker. Given an opportunity for redemption as the Poet Babies, they now teach others the life lessons they learned too late.

Veteran entertainment attorney Scott Landsbaum created the Poet Babies while working with world famous characters such as Spiderman and Scooby-Doo in a legal practice that focuses on children's products and licensing. "By promoting the old, common values too often forgotten in our modern, divided society, I hope to bring people together and encourage them to help others," said Landsbaum. Using animated characters to do it is just the latest outgrowth of his creativity.

Landsbaum first ventured into poetry with the book "Premature" about the births of his niece and nephew ( "I found the care I took crafting phrases for contracts transferred perfectly to poetry," said Landsbaum. Now he puts that same care into the Poet Babies' messages, such as Megan's "fake purse...genuine soul, I have both" and Jack's "Wealth is your opportunity to give."

In addition to t-shirts and e-cards, the Poet Babies write Poem Flashes, short, funny poems available through their newsletter. A recent Poem Flash, "Saving Paris Hilton," presents charity as the antidote to the excesses of moneyed boredom. The web site,, also features the background story and biographies of the Poet Babies.
