Pointe Nord, one of Canada's few neighbourhoods to be certified LEED ND gold by the US Green Building Council, is growing. Developer Proment announced that it welcomed more than 250 people to preview EvoloS at a special pre-launch event that was held last night.

"In planning a new building we always seek to give our buyers 10 reasons to buy and we feel that with EvoloS we have really succeeded. This building not only has new features like a full Nordic spa, but it is going to be built to high environmental standards and will seek LEED certification. It is the result of an integrated design process and requires real attention to detail, but buyers will reap tangible gains both on their investment and in terms of quality of life," said Louis-Joseph Papineau, Vice-President Development & Construction of Proment Corporation.

EvoloS is the result of collaboration between Quebec architectures Jean-Pierre Bart Architectes and Forme Studio. Innédesign, were brought on board to consult on interior finishings and Projet Paysage designed the landscaping.

"Engaging several professionals on a project costs our company significantly more money, but we believe it creates real value for buyers, as the firms consult with one another and critique each other every step of the way and can leverage each other's experience," explained Papineau.

Among the notable features of EvoloS:

- Located on the site closest to downtown Montreal, EvoloS offers unobstructed views of downtown Montreal and the St Lawrence River. This unbeatable location, on the rivers' edge nestled between two parks, is only a short walk from the main street of Quartier Pointe Nord and five-minutes from downtown Montreal.

- The 25-storey 186 unit building will offer a wide range of condos from 600 to 1800 square feet, starting at $240,000.

- The common spaces feature the Nordic spa, a fully equipped gym, an outdoor pool, magnificent gardens, and a social lounge.

"We're extremely proud of what's happening in Pointe Nord and believe EvoloS is certainly going to add to the vitality of the neighbourhood." continued Papineau.

Evolo S will be seeking a LEED certification – a feat which both Evolo 1 and Evolo 2 towers, which are also located in Pointe-Nord, are on course to achieve.

"LEED certification reflects the quality of design and construction of a building. It enhances your quality of life and lessens the overall impact on the environment. As a buyer in a LEED certified building you're lowering your energy bills, you have superior air quality and live in a structure that was built with high quality materials. It creates real long-term value for the residents, which is a high priority for us at Proment," said Ilan Gewurz, Executive Vice-President of Proment.

Proment Corporation has been Nuns' Island's primary residential developer for over 35 years, having planned and built over 5,000 condos and homes and 6 waterfront communities as well as the first LEED Gold residential towers in Quebec. The company is renowned for achieving excellence in building design and respected for creating significant value and quality of life for its purchasers. It has won numerous Domus awards for its developments.
