PointOne to Use Always On Wireless' WiFlyer™ to Implement New VoIP Phone Services

PointOne and Always On Wireless Announce Development Agreement

AUSTIN, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 25, 2005 -- PointOne and Always On Wireless today announced that they are jointly developing a platform to implement VoIP phone services using Always On Wireless' next generation WiFlyer. This new service will allow consumers without broadband Internet -- representing more than two thirds of U.S. households for the next several years -- to enjoy the benefits and cost reduction of VoIP phone service without the costs or requirement for broadband. Using the WiFlyer, users are able to share a dialup Internet connection among several computers at the same time while being able to access the Internet wirelessly from a laptop, anywhere in their home.

"We believe that the benefits of VoIP should be expanded to a wide range of users and not only those that subscribe to broadband," said Mike Holloway, CEO of PointOne. "We find the WiFlyer product to be unique in its ability to wirelessly share a dialup connection and believe it represents multiple opportunities for development."

"With the largest VoIP network in the U.S., PointOne is an optimal partner for us in developing a new generation of VoIP products and services for those that lack broadband," said Rudy Prince, CEO of Always On Wireless. "With dialup Internet access continuing to serve more than 40 million U.S. households, we believe the benefits of both VoIP and Wi-Fi can be extended to those users so that they can receive a near broadband experience using only dialup. Together with PointOne, we can offer attractive bundles of products and services to dialup ISPs and other channel partners."

PointOne delivers superior and reliable high-quality phone services to leading service providers over the largest managed Voice over IP (VoIP) network in North America. The company also offers StarPoint IP residential and SOHO turnkey VoIP solutions through independent cable companies and ISPs to deliver superior and reliable high-quality voice and data services.
