David Caplan and Bob Collins Guest Speakers at Ontario Construction Secretariat Conference on State of the Industry Attention: Assignment Editor, Business/Financial Editor, News Editor TORONTO, ON--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 11, 2005) - Media are invited to attend the Ontario Construction Secretariat's (OCS) conference on the future of Ontario's industrial, commercial and institutional (ICI) construction industry.

The State of the Industry and Outlook Conference will be held on Tuesday, February 15, beginning at 8:15 am in the Mississauga Ballroom of the Toronto Airport Hilton Hotel, 5875 Airport Rd, Toronto.

8:15 Scott Macivor, OCS CEO, will open the conference

8:30 Allan Gregg, Chair of Strategic Counsel Inc., will review the demographic changes of the past 25 years and describe the implications of Canadians' changing needs, wants and character

9:30 Bob Collins, of Prism Economics and Analysis, will describe Ontario's economic outlook

10:15 Hon. David Caplan, Minister of Public Infrastructure Renewal, will speak about rebuilding Ontario's infrastructure

11:00 Katherine Jacobs, OCS Director of Research and Analysis, will discuss the outlook for the construction industry in Ontario and the regions

The Ontario Construction Secretariat represents the views and interests of management and unionized labour in the Industrial, Commercial and Institutional construction (ICI) sector. OCS gathers and distributes data to demonstrate the economic contribution, capabilities and performance of the organized ICI construction sector; promotes regular conferences between labour and management outside the crisis of collective bargaining; and promotes the advancement of the unionized construction industry in Ontario.
