Polycom Introduces New SoundStructure Features for Enhanced Audio Solutions for Installed Voice & Video Conferencing

Polycom Offers Unrivaled High-Performance Installed Audio and Sound Reinforcement Solutions That Are Easy to Design and Configure With Expanded SoundStructure Features

PLEASANTON, CA and LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - June 18, 2008) - INFOCOMM -- Polycom, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLCM), the leader in unified collaborative communications solutions, today announced expanded features and capabilities for its SoundStructure™ series, the first installed room audio solution for voice and videoconferencing applications that delivers truly breakthrough sound quality. The SoundStructure series first introduced at InfoComm 2007 and recognized by audio/visual (AV) publications as one of the best products, leverages Polycom's proven technology and market expertise in installed audio. SoundStructure solutions are flexible and comprehensive audio systems that deliver state-of-the-art performance and audio processing capabilities for conference rooms, classrooms, and customized meeting rooms. Today, Polycom announces two newly available capabilities of its SoundStructure series:

-- SoundStructure, which already offers an easy-to-use audio solution
integrated with Polycom's HDX™ videoconferencing solutions, now adds
integration with Polycom HDX tabletop and ceiling microphone arrays.
Pre-built settings for HDX microphones within the SoundStructure Studio
software simplify deployments for videoconferencing or audio-only rooms. It
is now faster and easier than ever to create a high-fidelity audio system
by simply connecting SoundStructure with HDX microphones and amplified
loudspeaker outputs, and uploading a configuration file to the
    SoundStructure device.
-- The SoundStructure SR12 is now shipping. An ideal solution for sound
reinforcement environments (e.g. stadiums, nightclubs, ballrooms, houses of
worship), the SR12 offers unrivaled audio processing, delivering the
highest fidelity audio and voice reinforcement. Features of the
SoundStructure SR12 include: feedback reduction technology, dynamics
processing, multiple EQ options, audio processing on all inputs/outputs and
up to 12 submixes. The SR12 leverages the same SoundStructure Studio
software interface as other SoundStructure models, delivering the same ease
of setup and integration benefits for both conferencing and sound
    reinforcement environments.

"The performance of SoundStructure is outstanding," said Tom Sauter, major accounts engineer with Verview, a leading unified communications and audio-visual integrator in western New York state. "We recently upgraded our client's system from another vendor's product, and in this acoustically challenging installation, SoundStructure delivered clear full-duplex conferencing with minimal setup. And while this product has a much simpler interface than any other conferencing product I have used, the processing power is not compromised at all. Our clients were very happy that their conferencing systems were improved significantly, with minimal downtime."

About the SoundStructure Series

Designed for installed room environments, systems integrators and AV professionals, the SoundStructure series are comprehensive systems featuring multiple input and output options and submix processing capabilities that simplify installation and provide flexibility for any room configuration. Several design features have been implemented to support integrator needs, including 22 kHz stereo acoustic echo cancellation on all input channels; feedback elimination and advanced ambient noise cancellation on all input channels; flexible telephony options; and direct digital connection to Polycom HDX™ high definition video systems.

"SoundStructure continues to win rave reviews and accolades from customers, A/V integrators and consultants, and major A/V publications," said Craig H. Richardson, vice president and general manager of installed voice solutions at Polycom. "Adding support for Polycom HDX microphones now makes it easier than ever to deliver breakthrough audio for more productive voice and video conferences. In addition, the SR12 offers a great solution for our consultant and integrator partners who recognize the highly flexible and configurable audio performance that SoundStructure delivers, and have been looking for a version designed specifically for non-conferencing environments."
