Pool Donates $10,000 to Support Grain Worker Hurricane Victims

REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 26, 2005) - Saskatchewan Wheat Pool Inc. (TSX:SWP) will donate $10,000 US to the Agriculture River Recovery Fund created to provide financial assistance to agriculture industry employees and their families who have been affected by Hurricane Katrina.

"The United States is an important trading partner to Canada and the Pool believes it is important for us to support the American grain handling industry at such a critical time," said Mayo Schmidt, President and Chief Executive Officer. "It will take months for the US grain handling industry to recover from this disaster, but we hope that by offering financial support to our neighbours in the Mississippi River/Central Gulf region we can help to ease their losses."

The fund was created by a number of diverse grain and allied industries to support the hundreds of grain handling and related industry employees who are now struggling to restore their lives and their livelihoods after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Donations collected from individuals and businesses will help to assist workers who have suffered personal loss and injury. All administrative and operating expenses for the fund will be paid by the National Grain and Feed Association (USA).
