Pool Endorses Devine in Texas Supreme Court Run-Off Election

FLOWER MOUND, TX--(Marketwire - Jun 21, 2012) - Joe Pool, Jr., attorney and former Texas Supreme Court candidate, endorsed John Devine over the incumbent, David Medina, for the Texas Supreme Court primary run-off election on Tuesday night. "I am extremely excited and remarkably humbled by this endorsement," Devine stated. "Joe Pool, Jr. is a man of honor who understands that Texans seek a Supreme Court Justice who provides fair and unbiased opinions, and does not attempt to legislate from the bench." Devine concluded his remarks by saying, "Joe Pool, Jr. is a great Texan and a true leader Texas. I am proud to have his support."

Pool, who is from Dripping Springs, earned nearly 30% of the ballots cast during the primary election on May 29. Both Pool and Devine ran strong grassroots campaigns and mobilized Texans frustrated with the status quo.

Devine is admitted to the State Bar of Texas, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit Court, United States District Court Southern District, and the United States Tax Court. He has been married for 23 years to his wife Nubia, and the Devines have six children. He has served Texas as a District Judge, a Special Judge in Harris Co. J.P. Courts, on the Harris County Juvenile Board, and Harris County Juvenile Justice School Board. He is a member of the Board of Civil District Judges Mass Torts Committee, Board of Civil District Judges, the Texas Association of State Judges, and the American Judges Association.

The Texas Primary Run-off election is July 31st and includes four statewide races.
