PoopBuddy™ Unveils Eco-Chic Poop Bag Delivery Service

New Approach Aims to Inspire Responsibility, Curb Pollution and Add Fun; Portion of Proceeds Donated to Dog Rescue Groups and WWF

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - July 02, 2013) -  PoopBuddy™, Inc. today announced its eco-chic dog waste bag delivery service, a new twist on the subscription box craze and a novel approach to engaging more people in the fight against water pollution. Each plan offers a month's supply* of eco-friendly poop bags in an assortment of vivid colors, patterns and styles. The new service addresses the increasing demand for eco-friendly alternatives to plastic bags and the want for unique and stylish dog accessories.

"It's like getting a surprise gift in the mail every month," said Marissa Verson Harrison, serial entrepreneur, dog lover and start up investor. "We find new, trendy designs each month and deliver them for free. By adding a touch of flair to an otherwise tedious chore, we hope to make the process fun. Okay, maybe not fun."

PoopBuddy aims to motivate the 40% of dog owners who opt out of cleanup to take responsibility for their pet. "If more people are showing their mojo with eco designer poop bags, hopefully it will inspire new habits," Harrison continued.

Only since the mid 1990s have scientists been able to trace dangerous bacteria in water back to dog waste. PoopBuddy offers an affordable and convenient way to keep a constant supply of bags. The 72M strong dog-owning community can now make a difference in the spread of water pollution.

"I had no idea that dog waste ends up as water pollution," said Harrison. "Most people think that the eco thing to do is leave the waste to 'blend back into nature' and save a plastic bag. I was surprised to learn that dog waste seeps into the water tables with disease causing bacteria," continued Harrison.

Cities banning plastic bags, the growth of design-centered commerce as well as the pet industry moving online, support the prospect of a new approach to waste bag manufacturing and distribution. "With a new business model, direct-to-consumer distribution and a fun twist, we hope to educate consumers and cultivate new behaviors," continued Harrison.

* Standard monthly plans include 80-90 bags, typically enough for 2-3 walks per day.
