Porie Saikia-Eapen of CH2M HILL Conferred Fellowship of Chartered Institute of Building

Firm's New York City Area Manager Receives Industry Honor

DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - March 2, 2010) -  CH2M HILL, a global full-service engineering, procurement, construction, and operations firm, is pleased to announce that Porie Saikia-Eapen, a Senior Client Sales Manager and New York City Area Manager for CH2M HILL, has been conferred upon the Fellowship of Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). Saikia-Eapen accepted this honor in Ascot, UK, on Feb. 4 at the CIOB Presentation Ceremony.

"As a Fellow, I am looking forward to working with CIOB in bringing its benefits to the North American design and construction industry," said Saikia-Eapen. "I have also been asked, and accepted, to run for election to become a CIOB trustee. The final election is to be held by the members in March 2010, when they will elect three new trustees for the 16 person board."

With more than 45,000 members, the CIOB is the international voice of the building professional, representing an unequalled body of knowledge concerning the management of the total building process. CIOB's mission is to contribute to the creation of a modern, progressive, and responsible construction industry; able to meet the economic, environmental and social challenges faced in the 21st century. Being selected a Fellow is an honor bestowed to either a chartered member or an individual specifically identified by CIOB, as in Saikia-Eapen's case, who has made significant contributions in the industry, and has influenced the industry at large in academia, education or through the CIOB. Saikia-Eapen's colleague, Bill Van Wagenen, CH2M HILL Design Construction Director, is also a Fellow CIOB.

"I congratulate Porie on this outstanding achievement; it is an honor to have her contributions recognized," said CH2M HILL CEO Lee McIntire. "The experience, international perspectives, and expertise in the design and construction industry that Porie gains through her work with CIOB directly benefit our clients as we help them tackle construction challenges across the globe. This commitment to industry innovation and best practices is a reflection of the high caliber of employees that work at CH2M HILL."

In 2007, Saikia-Eapen founded and co-chaired the International Engineering and Construction Management (IECM) Forum in Thailand to help bring construction management expertise to South East Asia and to provide a forum for exchange of ideas and partnership opportunities. This year, the IECM Forum, supported by CIOB, has been invited by the U.S. Embassy's Department of Commerce and the Vietnamese Government to extend the forum to include two days in Vietnam. Saikia-Eapen will be co-chairing, facilitating, and presenting on Sustainable Urban Growth for the IECM Forum in both Thailand and Vietnam. Additionally, Saikia-Eapen will be presenting on New York/New Jersey Urban Rail Projects at the International Construction Management Association annual congress in Istanbul in June 2010 and will speak at the National Ground Breaking Women in Construction Conference in April in New York City.

Saikia-Eapen received a master's degree in public administration from New York University and has a bachelor's in architecture from Maharaja Sayajirao University in India. In addition to participation with CIOB, Saikia-Eapen is involved with the Construction Management Association of America, the American Institute of Architects, Women Builders Council and Women's Transportation Seminars.
