Portland's Williams Controls Rings NASDAQ's Closing Bell

Ceremony Marks Triumphant Return for Local Manufacture of Electronic Pedals

PORTLAND, OR -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 14, 2007 --

What:

Patrick Cavanagh, President and CEO of Williams Controls (NASDAQ: WMCO), and Dennis Bunday, CFO of Williams Controls, will be joined by Board members and investors to ring NASDAQ's closing bell on Wednesday, March 14.

Williams Controls returns to NASDAQ after being de-listed in 2001 when the company was on the brink of bankruptcy. Today, the 70-year-old company is posting record profits and earnings, fueled by strong international growth in the heavy truck, bus and off-road vehicle markets as the world moves to tougher emission standards. In 2007, the company plans to double production and employment in China and establish a facility in India to meet growing global demand. Tougher emission standards for off-road vehicles in North America and Europe are also driving growth, complementing Williams' strong base of NAFTA business. Williams Controls' stock is up 30 percent since it began trading on NASDAQ October 9, 2006.
