Post Office Limited to Modernize Information Management With Kalido

-- Kalido, the active information management company, today announced that it has been selected by Post Office Limited, part of the Royal Mail Group, as the foundation for its business intelligence (BI) and master data management (MDM) system. In addition to increasing responsiveness by modernizing the organization's information management infrastructure, the new program will enable the Post Office to more effectively evaluate, manage and improve product competitiveness, profitability and brand management.

About the Project

-- The driving force behind the project was a realization that the Post Office needed a flexible and agile environment that could deliver real business value quickly as well as keep pace with an increasingly growing rate of change.

-- The Post Office's comprehensive strategy is founded on two centralized systems, both to be built with the Kalido Information Engine, that will replace two traditionally built legacy systems.

-- The Kalido Information Engine was selected because its unique business-model-driven approach enables the Post Office to more quickly respond to changing business needs and requirements, while also managing the complexity and scale of its operations.

-- Specifically, the Post Office will use Kalido Master Data Management™ (Kalido MDM) to implement a data governance program that will help the company manage its complex wealth of master data, from big changes to its financial services products (including savings accounts, auto insurance, home insurance, etc.) and broadband services through to small price changes to postal services and stamps.

-- The Post Office BI system will also implement Kalido Dynamic Information Warehouse™ (Kalido DIW) to quickly create and easily manage and automate the data warehouse. The Kalido data warehouse will store updated information such as the volume and types of products sold daily through the Post Office's three channels and will deliver it to the BI tool through Kalido Universal Information Director™.

The system will be implemented and managed by Logica and Fujitsu Systems.
