"Power Assure's integration with ABB's System 800xA allows data center operators a new level of automated control over their operations, linking IT capacity with cooling and power capacity to move processing where it needs to be to reduce costs, ensure business continuity and improve quality of service," said Brad Wurtz, president and CEO, Power Assure. "Our mutual customers benefit from integrating real-time building and IT data to react automatically through power capping, load shifting and by dynamically adjusting IT capacity when there is a power or cooling failure."

The ABB System 800xA control system is an integration platform with unparalleled connectivity to enterprise facility, IT systems, applications, and devices and provides a collaborative environment where real time decision making is a reality. Designed to address the needs of Data Centers and combined with the insight and control from Power Assure DPM and DPO, the integrated solution provides a holistic infrastructure for managing data center energy efficiency and utilization, from IT equipment on the racks to facility equipment for the data center and across multiple data centers.

"By taking advantage of the 800xA control system, and integrating with Power Assure's power management and data center automation capabilities, our customers can experience an integrated environment that can monitor, report, and also automatically react to unexpected events by shifting, capping and adjusting the IT environment and facility infrastructure seamlessly and in real-time," said Valerie Richardson, vice president and global head of ABB's data center initiative.

ABB's 800xA Control System is an integration platform with connectivity to enterprise systems, facility applications and components, and devices that improve operations, engineering, control and maintenance of data centers and provides a collaborative environment for operating centers.

Power Assure software provides actionable, real-time and historical insight into power utilization and other key performance indicators (KPIs) for data centers, along with the means to optimize energy efficiency while maintaining application service levels. Power Assure enables data centers to gain real-time infrastructure insight and intelligence, maximize use of available space and power; extend the useful life of the data center; cut on-going power consumption by an average of 50%; cap and throttle IT capacity as needed and shift load within and across sites.
