SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 29, 2013) - Power Assure®, Inc., the leading Software Defined Power solutions provider for data centers, today announced that Clemens Pfeiffer, chief technology officer (CTO), will be a featured speaker at the second national conference on Next Generation Demand Response & Ancillary Services, taking place November 6-8, 2013 in Austin, TX at the Driskill Hotel.
Titled "Methods and examples for data centers to participate in demand response and ancillary services programs," this session will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 2:15 pm - 3:00 pm.
During this session, Clemens will examine the various ways for data centers to participate in demand response and ancillary services programs. Starting with an outline of the power profile of the various data center components, this presentation will outline details for creating a baseline power consumption, and show how to adjust it in an environment with ongoing inventory changes and variable application load. It will describe ways to increase and reduce power consumption through continuous dynamic application level load shifting by leveraging multiple data centers usually built for disaster recovery and how to use real time facility and IT monitoring data to forecast power consumption and IT utilization. All examples will be based on case studies with data from existing data centers.
