Power Consulting Group, Inc. CEO Runs NYC Marathon for WhyHunger

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - November 02, 2012) -  Power Consulting Group CEO Chris Power will be running the 2012 ING NYC Marathon to raise money for WhyHunger. WhyHunger is a leader in the movement to end hunger and poverty by connecting people to nutritious, affordable food and by supporting grassroots solutions that inspire self-reliance and community empowerment.

Chris is an avid runner who enjoys photography, reading, writing, and rock-climbing, and lives in Manhattan with his wife, children, and Wheaten Terrier, Piper. This will be his first marathon. Recently completing Oregon's annual Hood to Coast Relay, and Grete's Great Gallop ½ Marathon in Central Park, Chris is in great physical shape and is looking forward to the challenge.

Says Chris: "WhyHunger is a wonderful non-profit run by a group of amazing, caring people. Their mission is to reduce hunger in the United States and globally by working with, assisting and organizing local and regional grass-roots organizations. I love this organization and I hope you will help me raise money for them!"

WhyHunger provides capacity building services, training, technical support, and access to information and financial resources to community-based organizations that are increasing access to healthy food and developing groundbreaking projects to transform their communities.

Today there are 50 million Americans -- including 17 million children -- who are struggling to put their next meal on the table. WhyHunger's National Hunger Hotline at 1-866-3-HUNGRY connects individuals and families across the country to emergency food in their neighborhood and all the federal nutrition programs.

Says Bill Ayres, Executive Director of WhyHunger: "We have been lucky to work with Chris and Power Consulting for several years and are thrilled that he is running the NYC Marathon in support of WhyHunger. No matter what your passion or talents, Chris is a reminder that every one of us can make a difference in the fight against hunger."
