Power Industry SO2 Emissions in China Decreased in the First Half of 2007, an Industrial Info NEWS Alert

BEIJING--(Marketwire - August 28, 2007) - Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- The Communique on Major Pollutant Emission Indicators of Each Province, Autonomous Region and City Directly under the State Council in the First Half of 2007 jointly announced by the State Environment Protection Administration (SEPA), the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBSC) and the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on August 21, 2007, the total SO2 emission in China reached 12.634 million metric tons in the first half of this year, a decrease of 0.88% compared with the same period of the previous year; and the total emission of chemical oxygen demand (COD) reached 6.93 million metric tons, an increase of 0.24%.
