Power Outages Due To Adverse Weather Conditions

BRAMPTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - March 4, 2015) - Throughout the evening of March 3rd and into the early hours of March 4th, Hydro One Brampton experienced multiple pole fires do to salt contamination, freezing rain and high winds.

These weather conditions resulted in a series of scattered outages effecting 18 high voltage feeders causing outages to approximately 39,000 customers. In several cases, hydro and fire crews had to battle pole fires before they could begin restoration, and would no sooner get one area back on, when another would go out - making it difficult to get all customers back on line. Hydro One Brampton continued to work throughout the night and into the early morning to restore power to the majority of our customers.

As a result of the efforts of Hydro One Brampton crews and operators, as of 7 am this morning less than 12 customers remain without power. These customers are expected to be restored by late this afternoon.

Hydro One Brampton is a subsidiary of Hydro One Inc. and is responsible for the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to more than 150,000 homes and businesses in Brampton.
