PowerBar Kicks Off 2005 Tour de France With "Live Like Lance" National Sweepstakes

One Grand Prize Winner Will Meet Lance Armstrong, Receive Tour-Worthy Trek Madone 5.9 Bike and Ride Alongside Armstrong's Coach Chris Carmichael During Personal Training Session

BERKELEY, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 1, 2005 -- PowerBar announces the "Live Like Lance" sweepstakes, a national online consumer promotion to celebrate the legend of Lance Armstrong as he embarks on his final Tour de France competition. PowerBar invites consumers to visit, where they can enter for a chance to win a Lance Armstrong prize package by correctly answering sports nutrition trivia questions. The sweepstakes will run throughout the 2005 Tour de France event and entries will be accepted by PowerBar until August 8, 2005.

One grand prize winner will receive a trip for two to the Lance Armstrong Foundation's Ride for the Roses event in Austin, Texas, this October, where they will meet Lance Armstrong and participate in his annual fundraising event. The winner also will be awarded a coaching session ride in Austin with Armstrong's coach Chris Carmichael, and a Trek Madone 5.9 bike, the model used by Armstrong during the Tour de France.(1)

Five first prize winners will receive a Ciclosport HAC 4 advanced sports computer with heart rate monitor and altimeter, a cycling jersey signed by Lance Armstrong and a bike messenger bag filled with POWERBAR® products. Ten second prize winners will receive the POWERBAR® products and bag. All winners will be selected in a random drawing from all eligible entries in August 2005, and will be notified via email.
