PowerPlan Announces Inaugural Comet Awards

Company Recognizes Long-Standing Partnerships With Company and Individual Awards

WINNER: Black Hills Corporation (Rapid City, San Diego)

Best Use of Property Tax - nominees showed how they use PowerPlan's Property Tax functionality to improve processing times, reduce manual processes and increase data integrity

WINNER: ONEOK (Tulsa, Oklahoma)

Best Use of Project Management & Budgeting - nominees demonstrated how they use PowerPlan's Project Management & Budgeting solution to drive value by managing project costs from conception to completion

WINNER: Southern Company Services (Atlanta, Georgia)

Best Use of PowerPlan - nominees described how they leverage one or more PowerPlan solutions to achieve value across their organization

Individual Awards

Halley's Comet for Asset Accounting - nominees must demonstrate a dedication to increasing their organization's cash flow, retirement accuracy, automation and data integrity, while strengthening compliance, integration and analysis

WINNER: David Githae, CENG Exelon Corporation (Chicago, Illinois)

Halley's Comet for Tax - nominees who show a dedication to increasing their organization's tax savings through limited risk exposure, automated processes and accurate forecasting

WINNER: April Oedekoven, Black Hills Corporation (Rapid City, San Diego) and Rahn Randolph, MidAmerican Energy (Des Moines, Iowa)

Halley's Comet for Project Management and Budgeting - nominees must show a commitment to increasing their organization's project lifecycle management, including capital budgeting, maintenance, forecasting, approvals and downstream accounting

WINNER: Bill Simon, El Paso Electric (El Paso, Texas)

Halley's Comet for IT - nominees must demonstrate a commitment to supporting the implementation and operation of PowerPlan within their organization, while remaining focused on lowering the total cost of ownership

WINNER: Steve Dover, EPB Chattanooga (Chattanooga, Tennessee) and Sheldon Smith, Duke Energy (Charlotte, North Carolina)

PowerPlan Saturn Awards

These awards recognize individuals from PowerPlan for their commitment to helping customers meet key deadlines, improve performance and achieve strategic goals. The winners are:

  • Colin Thomson, senior consultant; nominated by CENG Exelon
